Human Resources & Legal Coordinator (DC)

The Asia Group seeks to hire a Human Resources & Legal Coordinator to support human resources and legal administrative duties, reporting to the Director of Human Resources and General Counsel. The Human Resources & Legal Coordinator will coordinate closely among our staff and senior advisors.

Candidates must have a BA in Human Resources or equivalent 4-year degree. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience providing administrative support and managing multiple competing priorities as well as strong attention to detail and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Human Resources (75%)

  • Conduct employee on-boarding and off-boarding;
  • Help organize training & development initiatives;
  • Coordinate performance and review process;
  • Maintain organized employee files and records in electronic form;
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics;
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations;
  • Coordinate employee benefits set-up and changes as needed;
  • Assist Finance Team with payroll processes;
  • Assist with the recruitment process by posting and maintaining job openings online and assist with the execution of employment contracts; and,
  • Support the Director of Human Resources with the full scope of HR needs for a global, rapidly growing company.

Legal Assistance (25%)

  • Support the General Counsel in managing the legal and compliance needs of the company;
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements and contractor agreements;
  • Help track the execution and renewal of client contracts;
  • Respond to client and other requests for ethics and compliance information about the company;
  • Help identify and maintain a network of foreign counsel on a global scale;
  • Assist with the tracking of foreign labor and other laws relevant to the company’s global operations;
  • Assist the General Counsel in managing the legal aspects of foreign office operations including lease renewals, the execution of vendor contracts, and similar initiatives; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • 2-5 years human resources experience; and,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat; Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures;
  • Knowledge of employment/labor laws;
  • Effective interpersonal and people skills with an ability to work as a team player ;
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving (both adaptive and technical) skills;
  • Demonstration of keen attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently as well as with and through others to achieve desired results;
  • A self-starter;
  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented, results-driven environment;
  • Strong ability to effectively resolve and cope with immediate conflict and/or crisis situations; and,
  • Proficient use of Apple/Mac computers, basic office software and any other database software(s) used to track work outputs.
