The Events & Operations Coordinator will serve as an integral member of The Asia Group’s operations team and play an important role coordinating with the firm’s country teams and broader staff. They will manage the logistics and execution of in-person and hybrid events, contribute to various branding initiatives, including the TAG website, and support operations.

Candidates must have a BA/equivalent 4-year degree or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience providing event support, managing administrative or office duties, and handling multiple competing priorities. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to excel under pressure, creatively problem solve, and work collaboratively across an organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide comprehensive in-person and hybrid event support for all levels of client and VIP engagements, including high-level meetings, special receptions, and offsite dinners;
  • Handle logistics for team offsite retreats, internal celebrations, and various team-building activities;
  • Develop and support relationships with key vendors, local restaurants, and other relevant parties;
  • Manage office and kitchen supply inventory and systems for DC office;
  • Build out firm gift inventory and handle special requests for VIP visitors;
  • Manage firm’s website design and updates;
  • Support occasional early breakfast meetings and dinner engagements;
  • Prepare PowerPoint and other presentation materials for firm leadership and internal briefings; and,
  • Undertake other projects in support of TAG client work and TAG corporate initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College degree (BA, BS, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service;
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task;
  • Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and,
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of event support, administrative, office management experience;
  • MA or equivalent academic/practical experience related to event management, hospitality, Asia, communications, and/or business.

U.S.-based employees at The Asia Group receive benefits including health, 401k matching, and commuter allowances. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Candidate would be expected to work in-person at the TAG office in Washington, DC at least three days per week, although this may change depending on in-person events schedule and the COVID situation in the Washington, DC area. Occasional early mornings and late evenings will be required.
