Anand Shah is a Senior Advisor at The Asia Group and a trusted counselor to the world’s most innovative companies navigating South Asia’s dynamic business landscape. He is the Founder of Dhamiri, a new venture that helps corporations align their core businesses with public good in critical international markets. Anand brings over 20 years of experience working across the private, public, and social sectors in India and around the world.
Before founding Dhamiri, Anand led the development of strategic initiatives as Senior Vice President of Indian ride hailing giant Ola. He co-founded Ola’s foray into electric vehicles (Ola Electric), conceptualized and led the Ola Mobility Institute, and supported the expansion of Ola’s business into international markets.
Prior to Ola, Anand led the South Asia Practice of strategic advisory firm Albright Stonebridge Group, supporting a diverse group of companies on critical issues in the Indian subcontinent.
Anand has also worked on global strategy for new ventures BMW AG, including driving the company’s assessments of urban and autonomous mobility, developing external investment objectives and the global startup accelerator Urban-X, as well as initiating new ventures centered on urban impact. He worked in a similar capacity at Audi AG’s Social Innovation group.
Anand spent 15 years living in India and has worked extensively on solar policy, electric vehicle policy, urban development, and international affairs.
While based in India, he founded Sarvajal, a technology and market-based provider of clean water to rural villages and urban settlements and helped establish Ahmedabad University. He was also the Founding CEO of the Piramal Foundation, a Co-Founder of Teach for India, and the Founder of Indicorps, a pioneering public service program.
Anand holds an AB from Harvard University.
