Rachel Mucha is an Associate at The Asia Group, where she supports clients as they develop and expand their business strategies across South Asia. Rachel assists clients in navigating India’s complex regulatory and political environment across a variety of sectors including information and communications technologies, education, and agriculture. In this capacity, she develops market entry and expansion strategies, briefs clients on emerging political developments, and helps craft resonant messaging strategies.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Rachel served as a legal analyst at Kobre & Kim, where she assisted clients on matters involving government enforcement defense and international judgement enforcement, including the representation of a Fortune 100 health care company in multi-district civil litigation. She was also involved in the firm’s asylum and gender-based violence pro-bono efforts.
Previously, Rachel was a Fulbright Research Scholar in Brazil, where she conducted independent research on the impact of climate change on female farmers’ livelihoods in Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon. While completing her Fulbright grant, Rachel was a frequent contributor to Rio on Watch, a non-profit journalistic group that reports on human rights and urban planning in Rio. In addition, Rachel has worked as a High Court Reporter for The Indian Express in Mumbai, and conducted field research on maternal health and environmental policy in Bihar and Maharashtra as a research assistant for the Georgetown University India Initiative.
Rachel graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Foreign Service. She is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.
