Research & Administrative AssistantJohnny is a Research and Administrative Assistant at The Asia Group. In this role, he contributes research and writing to the research and defense teams while also managing the front office.
Before joining TAG, Johnny worked as a legal assistant for LegalZoom in which he was primary support for the risk, litigation, and government relations team. Previously, Johnny worked as a legislative intern on Capitol Hill, assisting with domestic policy research and reporting on congressional briefings. He also worked as a press intern for Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, helping to draft policy, speeches, and copy for social media to raise awareness for various policy initiatives.
Johnny is currently working toward a master’s degree in U.S. Foreign Policy & National Security at American University in Washington, DC. His main area of study is geopolitical security with a focus on Russia & China. Johnny received his bachelor’s degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA with a concentration in Diplomacy & World Affairs. In his spare time, Johnny is a freelance photographer, enjoys watching baseball and talking foreign policy with friends and colleagues.
