Michael is an Associate with the Defense & Aerospace Practice at The Asia Group.

Prior to joining The Asia Group, Michael was a Research Assistant on the Defense Team at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). His research covered Taiwanese and Chinese defense capabilities, American extended deterrence commitments, and U.S. force posture in the Indo-Pacific. He also supported the CNAS Gaming Lab, helping develop and execute tabletop exercises on defense and economic issues in the Indo-Pacific for Congressional, Department of Defense, and private sector audiences.

Michael holds an MA in International Affairs with a concentration in Strategic Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in Economics and Finance from Muhlenberg College.
