AssociateRachel Lambert is an Associate at The Asia Group, where she works with the Southeast Asia and Research & Analytics practices to help clients navigate the geopolitical and economic climate of the greater Indo-Pacific.
Prior to joining TAG, Rachel worked at the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Southeast Asia program, where she researched pressing human rights issues focused on the Rohingya refugee crisis. Rachel previously served as a Global Perry World House Student Fellow and Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, she researched international space legislation, defense capabilities, and supply chains, most recently writing on the international regulation of Anti-Satellite Technology (ASAT).
Rachel's understanding of the Indo-Pacific is supported by her previous work at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, where she assisted in coordinating legislative meetings between U.S. officials and Asian governments. While there, she supported high-level multilateral engagements, including a U.S.-Hong Kong bilateral legislative meeting amid the 2019 Hong Kong protests. Additionally, she interned at the Brookings Institute and assisted in research for Michael H. Armacost Chair Ryan Hass's book "Stronger: Adapting America's China Strategy in an Age of Competitive Interdependence."
Rachel lived in Asia for over a decade and speaks working-level Chinese. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International Relations and minors in Biology and East Asian Studies. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she competed as a D1 fencer.
