Associate Vice President – South Asia (New Delhi)

The Asia Group is now accepting applications for an Associate Vice President with technology policy experience to join our office in New Delhi. This position will support the broader South Asia practice based across New Delhi, Mumbai, and Washington D.C.

The Asia Group is a strategic and business advisory firm that supports Fortune 500 corporations with market entry and expansion strategies, stakeholder engagement strategies, and complex conflict resolution initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region. The Asia Group’s clients cover a broad range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, energy, financial services, hospitality, life sciences, infrastructure, and defense.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation of public policy or business strategy experience and have recently held a mid-level position in business or government that focused on technology, trade or industrial policy. In addition, a successful candidate will have a strong command of the political, regulatory, and macroeconomic environments in India, demonstrating the ability to distill these trends into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for commercial stakeholders across a broad range of industries.

The role is based in New Delhi and requires some domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist partners and principals in managing the South Asia practice, and support the continued growth and expansion of the firm in India
  • Manage day-to-day client workstreams, including inter alia development and review of written products, delivering substantive briefings for clients, and fielding and managing client requests
  • Develop regular, nuanced assessments on relevant political, economic, and regulatory trends in India for broad client consumption
  • Support the firm’s business development objectives, including by identifying and researching potential targets, conducting outreach, and developing proposals
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust network of relevant stakeholder relationships
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (MA, MBA, MPP) or equivalent practical experience related to business and government in India
  • 7-10 years of prior work experience; preferably in government relations, consulting, or related fields, demonstrating the ability to integrate public policy with corporate strategy
  • Expertise in working with the political and policy ecosystem in India, including a deep understanding of federal and state-level regulatory frameworks, political dynamics, key stakeholders, policy tools, and engagement mechanisms
  • Experience in key industries including technology, electronics, manufacturing or financial services preferred
  • Strong communicator, demonstrated by the ability to present in a polished and effective manner to business executives and other senior-level interlocutors
  • Experience in managing and leading small teams
