Issac Chan is an Associate at The Asia Group (TAG), based in TAG Hong Kong Office. Issac brings his extensive experience in policy advocacy, industry engagement, and research to TAG. He advises clients on navigating complex public policy and business landscape, helping them align business strategies with evolving economic, political, and regulatory environment.
Prior to joining TAG, Issac was a Policy Analyst at the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, a statutory industry body representing the business sector in the Hong Kong’s legislature and public organizations. In that role, he tracked policy trend, developed research-driven policy recommendations, and advised senior corporate leaders on various policy responses and strategic engagements with the government, with focuses on innovation and technology, international trade, and green transition.
Earlier in his career, Issac worked at Asia Society Hong Kong, where he contributed to developing stakeholder engagement strategies. He also served as a Research Assistant at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) for a policy research project funded by Hong Kong Chief Executive’s Policy Unit, which led to being published in a leading peer-reviewed journal.
Issac earned his MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics. He completed his undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Politics at CityU, where he served on multiple university committees overseeing academic and institutional development. A native of Hong Kong, Issac speaks Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese and English. In his leisure time, Issac is keen to be a global explorer as he recently completed his tour in Central Asia.
