Moushumi M. Khan is a Senior Advisor at The Asia Group.

Ms. Khan a dynamic executive with over 25 years of experience driving strategy, governance, and business growth globally. A recognized leader in international and private sector development, risk mitigation, and emerging markets, she brings a unique ability to align corporate objectives with sustainable impact goals. Ms. Khan is dedicated to creating innovative solutions that drive growth, resilience, and impact in a rapidly evolving world economy.

Most recently, Ms. Khan served as the United States Alternate Executive Director on the Board of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), representing U.S. interests and fostering opportunities for American businesses to engage in high-impact initiatives. Her work included advancing regional infrastructure development, climate finance, spearheading private sector engagement, and contributing to the evolution of multilateral institutions. At ADB, she played a pivotal role in enhancing governance and shaping policies that address economic and environmental challenges.

Previously, Ms. Khan was the founding CEO of Nirapon, a safety monitoring initiative for North American companies sourcing garments from Bangladesh. Under her leadership, Nirapon became a model for workplace safety and compliance in the global supply chain. She also served as Country Director for The Foundation for Charitable Activities in Bangladesh, where she oversaw socio-economic development and healthcare projects, and as the first Director of Legal and Compliance at BRAC, the world’s largest NGO.

A seasoned board advisor and advocate for inclusive leadership, Ms. Khan holds advisory roles with various organizations, including The Asian American Foundation, and is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Her previous board engagements include as the first female Director of RahimAfrooz Renewable Energy Ltd., a pioneer in Bangladesh’s solar industry, the Interfaith Center of New York, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council, where she contributed to fostering cross-sector collaboration.

Ms. Khan earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a Bachelor’s degree in Critical Social Thought from Mount Holyoke College.
