Harry Rubin is an Associate with The Asia Group’s China Practice, where he supports clients in understanding and navigating China’s political, business, and economic environments.
Before joining The Asia Group, Harry spent two years in Beijing, China as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University, where he received a Master of Law in Politics and International Relations. Beyond academics, he supported research and consulting projects for foreign multinationals, tracking U.S.-China trade policy and China’s domestic industrial developments for global tech clients at APCO Worldwide. He also supported corporate advocacy as part of the American Chamber of Commerce in China’s Government Affairs and Policy team, tracking China’s domestic policy announcements for member companies and compiling member company suggestions for China’s government.
Previously, he spent a year in Pingtung County, Taiwan, on a Fulbright grant, teaching junior high school in rural and mountain indigenous townships. Before his time abroad, Harry’s professional background also included research and writing support at Washington, D.C.-based think tanks. He has worked on policy publications for both the Brookings Institution and the American Enterprise Institute, covering U.S. domestic and foreign affairs.
Harry graduated with honors from Yale University, with a BA in History and a Certificate of Advanced Language Study in Chinese. He is proficient in Mandarin.
