Washington, D.C. | September 30, 2025 — The Asia Group (TAG), a premier geopolitical advisory firm leveraging cutting-edge technology and exceptional human capital, is pleased to welcome Andrew (Andy) Shaw as Managing Director, based in Bangkok, Thailand. Shaw brings nearly three decades of experience across Southeast Asia and China.
“Having worked directly with Andy while he led the Economic Sections of the U.S. Embassies in Thailand and Indonesia, I am truly excited to add his exceptional expertise and firsthand knowledge of these important markets to the TAG Southeast Asia team,” said TAG Partner Alex Feldman. “Andy’s appointment demonstrates TAG’s ongoing commitment to Southeast Asia, and his rich experience and networks will be an immense asset to clients seeking to expand their business and remove barriers to growth throughout the region.”
As Managing Director, Andy will partner with clients as they navigate complex economic, political, and commercial landscapes in the strategic Southeast Asia region.
“Andy’s skill and strategic vision is second to none. As TAG continues to advance client priorities throughout Southeast Asia at a dynamic moment for companies and countries in the Indo-Pacific, I couldn’t imagine a better addition than Andy,” said TAG Partner Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink.
Shaw comes to TAG following a distinguished career in the U.S. Foreign Service where he served as Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, and previously in the same role in Jakarta. In both positions he worked to bolster bilateral trade and support U.S. investments in key sectors.
