Byambajargal ‘Bimja’ Ayushjav is a Senior Advisor at The Asia Group. Bimja is a prominent Mongolian leader, entrepreneur, and scholar with a background in environmental science, public policy, and digital transformation. She is the founder of the Faro Group, which encompasses Faro Consulting, Faro Technology, and Faro Education. These ventures promote innovation in Mongolia’s digital transformation, startup acceleration, and educational consulting. The Faro Group is a partner for The Asia Group’s efforts in Mongolia.
Bimja also founded and oversees the Faro Foundation Mongolia, which drives innovative policy and program initiatives in digital literacy, media literacy, and climate change mitigation across Mongolia and Central Asia. Under her leadership, the foundation partners with organizations like the European Union to implement projects such as the Digital Inclusion through CSO Empowerment (DICE) project, which benefits numerous students and educators.
Bimja is pursuing her PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University, focusing on climate change mitigation and renewable energy policy. She holds advanced degrees in Public Policy and Renewable Energy from institutions in Germany and China and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, completed with highest honors in Cuba.
Beyond her entrepreneurial work, Byambajargal has consulted for global companies on government relations, public policy, and partner management, with expertise in digital transformation, ESG, public policy, and climate change mitigation. She is an AmCham Mongolia Board Member, Chair of the ICT & Digital Committee, and a Trust and Safety Advisory Board Member for a next-generation social platform. She is also a founding member of IGF Mongolia and co-director of Tech for Good Asia.
In 2019, Forbes Asia recognized her as one of the 30 Under 30 for social enterprises. An alumna of the U.S. State Department’s IVLP Program, Bimja speaks Mongolian, English, and Spanish, with a working knowledge of Chinese and German. She continues to have a significant impact on public policy, education, technology, and environmental sustainability in Mongolia.
