Before her appointment in Washington, Jacqueline worked as a Senior Executive at the National Naval Shipbuilding Office in Canberra, where she led an interdisciplinary team of experts responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and strategies to establish a fit-for-purpose national infrastructure, workforce, and industrial base to support the construction of over 54 locally built complex naval vessels.

Jacqueline began her career in government and has served in various roles both in Australia and internationally focused on Australian regional engagement and defense policy. She was the first Australian official stationed at NATO’s Headquarters in Brussels, Director for Indonesia and later New Zealand and Pacific at Defence Australia, Director of Humanitarian Organizations at the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and as Senior Officer for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet under Prime Minister John Howard.
