The Asia Group Announces Opening of New Office in Hanoi and Addition of Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh as Senior Advisor

The Asia Group is proud to announce that it will be opening a new office in Hanoi and that it has appointed former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Pham Quang Vinh as a Senior Advisor to support the firm’s innovative Vietnam practice.

Over the past five years, The Asia Group has developed a sophisticated and comprehensive government relations and investment advisory practice in Vietnam. Recognizing the vibrance and potential of this fast-growing market, the firm has decided to formally open a Vietnam headquarters in Hanoi in Q1 2020 in the central Phan Chu Trinh neighborhood, just south of historic Hoan Kiem Lake. Through this office, The Asia Group will continue to provide high-level support to its diverse client base, while at the same time expanding its day-to-day engagements in Vietnam and providing a base of operations for continuous interactions throughout Southeast Asia. The launch of the office will be overseen by The Asia Group’s President and Co-Founder Nirav Patel, Vietnam Country Director Hung Manh Nguyen, and Vice President John Lichtefeld, who will regularly travel to Hanoi for official engagements and to deliver focused, in-country client support.

The Asia Group is also particularly excited to welcome on board former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Pham Quang Vinh as a senior advisor to support the firm’s growing Vietnam practice. Ambassador Vinh had a storied career in Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spanning over 38 years, with his most recent posting in Washington, where he held the position of Ambassador from 2015 to 2018. As Ambassador, Mr. Vinh served as an architect for stronger U.S.-Vietnam relations and a champion for greater commercial ties between the two nations. As a Senior Advisor at The Asia Group, Ambassador Vinh will help support the new Hanoi office by leveraging his experience and deep knowledge to promote stronger U.S.-Vietnam commercial relations and advance investment opportunities for leading U.S. companies in Vietnam.

Dr. Kurt Campbell, Chairman and CEO of The Asia Group noted, “I have had the pleasure of working with Ambassador Vinh both while serving in government and as CEO of The Asia Group and can say unequivocally that he is among the most effective and sophisticated diplomats with whom I have had the honor of engaging. His addition to our team reflects The Asia Group’s growing practice in Vietnam, and throughout Southeast Asia, and our commitment to bringing together the world’s finest talent to drive our service offerings for American and global corporations seeking to advance their objectives in the Indo-Pacific region.”
