Analyst (Intern) – South Asia (Mumbai)

The Asia Group, LLC is now accepting applications for an Analyst to join our South Asia Practice in Mumbai. This position will support the India Country Director and the broader South Asia practice based across New Delhi and Mumbai on the South Asia project portfolio. The Analyst role is offered as a full-time position with a 3-month probation.

The Asia Group is a strategic and business advisory firm that supports Fortune 500 corporations, startup enterprises, and other institutions with market entry and expansion strategies, stakeholder engagement strategies, and complex conflict resolution initiatives in the Indo-Pacific region. The Asia Group’s clients cover a broad range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, energy, financial services, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure and logistics, and defense.

The Asia Group is looking for highly motivated candidates who ideally either have or are working toward a MBA or a Master’s degree in international relations, political science, economics, business, Asian studies, or a related field. Analysts work closely with partner-led client teams and play key roles in supporting the firm’s research, analysis, and client support. The ideal candidate commands strong writing skills and shows a genuine desire to learn, including through frequent constructive feedback from senior team members and peers. Plus points will include an understanding of global macroeconomic trends, business climates, and political dynamics across Asian markets.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Conduct economic, industry, and political research and analysis
  • Serve as lead author on memos, reports, and briefing materials
  • Track market and industry developments impacting client equities
  • Provide logistical and event support for client engagements
  • Prepare PowerPoints
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Outstanding research and writing skills
  • Strong grasp of business strategy fundamentals, particularly in emerging markets
  • Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications – demonstrated fluency in Microsoft Excel other statistical languages
  • Experience in data visualization and design a plus
  • Genuine desire to learn, including through feedback from senior team members and peers
  • Team player with eagerness for professional development
Desired Focus and Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of the South-Asia region, with a keen interest in India
  • Demonstrated economic and policy expertise in India
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Indian market dynamics and/or private sector experience, including industry, consulting, or other sectors
