Anshita Shukla is an Associate for South Asia at The Asia Group. In this role, she brings her keen understanding of research and policy analysis, particularly in security, geopolitics, and foreign policy, including of South, Southeast, and East Asia.

Prior to The Asia Group, Anshita served as a Research Associate at the Delhi Policy Group (DPG). Her research focused on analysing security and economic developments in the Indo-Pacific region and its impact vis-à-vis India. Her work supported policy dialogues, including the Australia-India Dialogue and the India-Japan Track 1.5 Dialogue. Through such engagements, she delved into strategic dynamics, security challenges, and the evolving economic landscape of the region, sharpening her expertise in international relations.

Anshita holds a Master’s in International Affairs from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Her Master’s thesis explored the contrasting COVID-19 countermeasures adopted by Vietnam and Indonesia, offering insights for effective crisis management in the future. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miranda House, University of Delhi.

In addition to building her career in international relations, Anshita has a knack for the arts. She is a trained classical Kathak dancer and enjoys painting and listening to music to help her unwind.
