Hamsini Hariharan serves as an Associate Vice President focusing on research and strategy at The Asia Group, where she leverages deep geopolitical expertise to shape and execute cross-sectoral research and thought leadership initiatives.
Since 2016, Hamsini has worked with think tanks, media outlets, and universities across India, the U.S., and China, using open-source intelligence to inform her analysis and teaching. Before joining TAG, Hamsini served as Research Manager (India) at Logically, where her work on disinformation was cited in the New York Times, BBC, The Guardian, and Bloomberg. She also worked with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, contributing to policy development and strategic outreach. Until 2021, she hosted States of Anarchy, a weekly podcast on global affairs and Indian foreign policy that reached over 75,000 listeners.
Her writing has been featured in Foreign Policy, TechNode, CNBC TV-18, The Diplomat, The Wire, Livemint, Business Standard, Buzzfeed Essays, and The New Indian Express, among others.
Hamsini holds a Master of Law in China Studies from Peking University and a Master of Arts in Geopolitics and International Relations from Manipal University. In her spare time, she practices tai-chi, reads fantasy, and cooks elaborate meals for family.
