Hannah is a Senior Associate with the China Practice at The Asia Group. Prior to joining The Asia Group, Hannah provided China-related expertise and analysis for corporate clients at The Cohen Group, specializing in strategic guidance for clients in the consumer goods, manufacturing, emerging technology, and biotech sectors.

Prior to joining The Cohen Group, Hannah spent six years on the ground in Beijing, China, working in consulting, policy analysis, and freelance writing. As a Business Advisory Services Manager at the US-China Business Council’s Beijing office, she provided analysis, advocacy, and monitoring for member companies regarding China’s seminal Data Security Law, Personal Information Protection Law, and related laws and regulations. Hannah was the lead author of a benchmarking report that was quoted in various publications including Bloomberg and the South China Morning Post. She also contributed to webinars, podcasts, and print articles on China policy. She represented member views to both the Chinese and American governments, spearheading USCBC’s advocacy positions on more than ten cross-border, cyber, and privacy related regulations. Before joining USCBC, Hannah worked for North Head Consulting, advising corporate clients on China-facing public affairs strategies. As a freelance analyst and author in Beijing, she created tailored content for the British Council, academic institutions, and policy research consultancies using Mandarin and English language resources.

She holds an MA in Chinese Studies as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with high honors from the University of Michigan, with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Chinese Studies. She is professionally fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
