Harkiran K. Sanjeevi is a Vice President with The Asia Group’s South Asia Practice, specializing in governance and public policy with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate challenges in policy implementation across various sectors. She advises private sector organizations, multilateral agencies, and philanthropic institutions on strategic planning, with a particular focus on aligning with India’s national development priorities. She brings extensive experience in sustainable development programs and projects for the Government of India, various state governments, as well as bilateral agencies.
In her previous role as Deputy Director General at NITI Aayog, the national think tank of Government of India, she worked closely with its leadership to design and implement impact-driven national programs. During her tenure, she contributed to significant national initiatives such as the Electric Mobility Mission at NITI Aayog, where she led policy development, stakeholder engagement, and program management to promote the electric vehicle ecosystem in India.
Prior to NITI Aayog, she spent over a decade in urban development consulting, including as Advisor at GIZ India, where she led capacity building initiatives in urban planning, sanitation, and climate change, and as Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was part of the core team providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Urban Development for implementing JNNURM, India’s flagship urban renewal program.
Harkiran holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
