Jie Ma is a Senior Associate at The Asia Group, based in Washington D.C., where she provides comprehensive support to clients from a broad range of sectors with a focus on China.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Ms. Ma worked in the U.S. Embassy in Beijing for 18 years. From 2012 to 2022, she was an Agricultural Specialist with the Foreign Agricultural Service of the Embassy, providing policy analysis and tracking of regulatory environment changes to ensure smooth trade of U.S. agricultural and food products to China. She maintained extensive connections with relevant government agencies, academic communities, and industries for comprehensive and accurate understanding of the trade environment. From 2004 to 2012, Ms. Ma was a Commercial Specialist working on trade remedy cases, including the first countervailing duty investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
Ms. Ma obtained her Master’s degree in International Relations at the China Renmin University, and her Bachelor’s of Economics at the University of International Business and Economics. She is a certified interpreter and translator. In her spare time, Ms. Ma is also a Yoga enthusiast.
