Maia Johnston is the Events and Operations Coordinator at The Asia Group, where she is responsible for the logistics of client engagements and internal team-building events.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Maia worked as an events coordinator at the Futures Industry Association (FIA) and a program coordinator at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). In these positions, Maia honed skills in event management and cultivated a valuable customer service mindset. Maia also brings event experience from previous roles at the National Defense University and Capitol Visitors Center.
Currently, Maia is a volunteer coordinator for the International Korean Adoptees Association (IKAA). In this capacity, she most recently supported hosting the 2023 IKKA international gathering in Seoul Korea.
During the pandemic years, Maia taught English to elementary and middle schoolers in Seoul, Korea. While there, her Korean language skills only improved marginally, and she is still trying her best to learn. In her spare time, Maia enjoys trying new locations on her ever-growing Restaurant Bucket List. Maia holds a bachelor’s degree from Radford University.
