Olivia Camillo

Associate

Olivia is an Associate with The Asia Group’s Defense & National Security Practice, where she provides in-depth strategic analysis of geopolitical and industry developments to support defense customers seeking to expand into markets across the Indo-Pacific.

Prior to joining The Asia Group, Olivia served as a congressional staffer, most recently as a research assistant for the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee. In this capacity, she aided the committee in conducting a bipartisan investigation of the U.S federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and examining global medical supply chain trends. Olivia worked for Senator Richard Burr, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Kelly Loeffler, and the late Senator Johnny Isakson from her home state of Georgia.

Olivia received an MA in Security Studies, with a concentration in military operations, at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in May 2024. Olivia graduated cum laude from Roanoke College with a BA in History, focused primarily on East Asia, as well as a BA in International Relations. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on the evolution of Sino-American relations and the comparison democratic systems. Currently, Olivia’s defense interests include deepening regional alliances and partnerships – especially the AUKUS trilateral partnership – naval warfare and platforms, ethnic conflict and civil war,  irregular warfare, and global supply chain developments.  Olivia is also interested in the study of drone warfare, unmanned systems, and how autonomous systems will impact the future of conflict. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys strength-training, playing on recreational sports teams, and learning piano.
