Stephanie Faulkner

Associate Vice President

Stephanie Faulkner is an Associate Vice President at The Asia Group (TAG), where she supports the firm’s South Korea portfolio. Stephanie brings over eight years of experience conducting timely market, industry, political, and policy research and analysis of Korea-related issues in both South Korea and the United States. She supports clients as they navigate the U.S. and South Korean public and private sector landscape in an array of industries, such as defense, semiconductor, AI and advanced technology, and pharmaceuticals. She also advises clients on the broader policy and regulatory dynamics in the Indo-Pacific and the impact on U.S. and South Korean corporate strategy.

Prior to joining TAG, she advanced U.S. business interests across a range of industries in South Korea, Japan, and Pakistan at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business organization. At the Chamber, Stephanie oversaw the U.S.-Korea Business Council’s and the U.S.-Japan Business Council’s sectoral working groups in the digital economy, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and financial services and advocated for U.S. commercial priorities in both markets. Stephanie also worked at McLarty Associates, a strategic advisory firm based in Washington, D.C., where she supported the firm’s Northeast Asia and Trade practices. As the inaugural Associate of the Trade practice, she helped grow the new practice and advised clients on the business impact resulting from U.S.-China trade tensions, the KORUS FTA amendment process, and the U.S.-Japan trade negotiations. She has also held positions at the U.S. Department of State, Eurasia Group, and the Wilson Center.

Stephanie holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where her research interests were U.S. policy toward North Korea. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and focused on the U.S.-South Korea alliance in the post-Cold War period. She has advanced Korean language proficiency.
