Thao Nguyen is an Analyst at The Asia Group (TAG), where she works for the firm’s Southeast Asia practice in Hanoi, Vietnam. In this role, she supports the Vietnam Country Team with cross-sectoral policy monitoring, political and economic analysis, and client servicing.
Prior to TAG, Thao was based in New York and Washington D.C. for nine years. Thao worked as a project assistant and local coordinator in Vietnam for a D.C.-based non-profit specialized in international security. In this capacity, she supported the implementation of the U.S. Department of States’ initiatives in Vietnam and Malaysia. Separately, she also worked as an extern consultant on various public and private sector projects in Ghana, India, Washington D.C., and Texas.
Thao graduated cum laude from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and McDonough School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business & Global Affairs and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. In her spare time, Thao enjoys reading and immersing herself in Hanoi’s vibrant coffee and jazz scenes in addition to volunteering in nationwide women’s health and domestic violence prevention initiatives.
