Vivek Abraham is a Managing Principal at The Asia Group, where he leads the Technology Strategy practice across India & South Asia. He advises global technology companies on aligning their product and business strategies with the evolving policy landscape. With nearly two decades of experience spanning technology, public policy, digital governance, geopolitics, and financial markets across government and the private sector on three continents, he brings rare cross-sectoral depth to his work.
Previously, Vivek served as Head of External Strategy for South Asia at Salesforce, where he advised their executive leadership on geopolitics, public policy, and government affairs. He spearheaded Salesforce’s public sector business in India, led the Legal & Corporate Affairs organisation for South Asia, and helped scale the company’s India operations six-fold, establishing it as the leader in Enterprise AI within the government.
Earlier, Vivek led Global Investor Outreach at Invest India, India’s National Investment Promotion Agency. He advised Fortune 500 CxOs on their India strategies, represented India at the World Economic Forum in Davos from 2016 to 2020, and worked on critical assignments for the Prime Minister’s Office. His work contributed to India becoming a top destination for Foreign Direct Investment and Invest India being recognised as the leading investment promotion agency globally.
Vivek began his career in investment banking in London, holding roles at Lehman Brothers and SBI Capital Markets. He led the raising of several billion dollars across landmark transactions, including the world’s 1st masala bond and co-creating India’s first bond index on the London Stock Exchange, announced in a UK-India joint statement.
He holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a degree in Computer Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering, where he contributed to the development of Aadhaar, India’s national digital identity platform.
Based in Delhi, Vivek is an anchor volunteer at iSPIRT, a leading technology think-tank, and is actively engaged with an NGO that supports and mentors bright women undergraduate students.
