Vivian Law is a Vice President at The Asia Group and a core member of the firm’s energy & sustainability practice, leveraging expertise across Japan and Greater China. She advises clients on Japan’s energy transition and industrial decarbonization markets, and the opportunities and risks created by government policy. Based in Tokyo, Vivian is an expert on Japan’s policy priorities and on how Japan’s relationships with China, Taiwan, and ASEAN are shaping market access and regulatory developments across Asia.
Prior to joining The Asia Group, Vivian was a public policy manager at a public affairs advisory firm in East Asia, focused on the energy, sustainability, and circular economy sectors in Japan and Taiwan.
Earlier in her career, Vivian worked for a decade at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, where she advanced investment strategies and public-private partnerships across the energy and infrastructure sectors. She supported high-level government and business delegations, contributing to cross-border initiatives that enhanced market access and strengthened regional economic connectivity for a variety of corporations.
Vivian holds a Master’s degree in Global Environmental Studies from Kyoto University, where she graduated as valedictorian with a Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship. She earned a First Class Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong. Vivian is fluent in English, Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
