AnalystBrendan Stewart is an Analyst at The Asia Group, where he researches and analyzes political, geopolitical, and economic developments in support of the Southeast Asia practice.
Before joining The Asia Group, Brendan worked with Legacies of War, a nonprofit that focuses on advocating for additional demining and UXO-removal assistance in Lao PDR. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer for three years in Cambodia, spending two years in Kratie province and one year in Phnom Penh, providing training support and liaising between volunteers in the field and office staff. Brendan also spent two years in the Republic of Singapore Air Force, where he served as a Flight Commander in the 128 Squadron’s 3rd Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Divisional Flight.
Brendan graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Science in Foreign Service, and received certificates in Asian Studies and Diplomatic Studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Engineering from Columbia University. He speaks Khmer and is an avid fisherman.
