The Asia Group (TAG) and Observer Research Foundation (ORF) are pleased to announce India Innovates, a new platform that will facilitate high-impact discussion on the most consequential strategic and commercial trends shaping the Indian economy and the U.S.-India relationship over the coming decade.
As part of this new platform, TAG and ORF will convene a flagship roundtable series featuring senior officials in conversation with TAG and ORF leadership. Over the coming year, the roundtables will regularly convene U.S. and Indian policy experts, thought leaders, as well as global investors and explore wide-ranging trends across trade and investment, healthcare innovation, technology policy, and geopolitics.
India Innovates will be co-led by TAG Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Nirav Patel and ORF President Dr. Samir Saran. “We are incredibly excited to launch this new platform and to bring together some of India’s most influential leaders and their global peers to discuss critical political, economic, and geopolitical trends transforming the Indian market and the U.S.-India relationship,” said Mr. Patel. “TAG is proud to continue our close work with ORF and to drive cutting-edge thought leadership on these vital issues.”
India Innovates builds upon the strong collaboration and joint research partnership between TAG and ORF, which has been in place since 2019. Working together, TAG and ORF have regularly convened high-level roundtables and nuanced discussions in Washington and New Delhi exploring the opportunities for innovation and partnership in the U.S.-India relationship, as well as key policy trends transforming India and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
“As India battles the COVID-19 pandemic and charts its economic recovery, sustained engagement between public and private sector leaders in India and the United States will be more important than ever. Governments and industry will need to work collaboratively and find policy and market solutions that harness the dynamism and innovative spirit pulsing across both countries,” said Dr. Saran. “India Innovates will build upon previous ORF-TAG policy reports and continue to generate a number of important policy proposals for consideration by communities in both countries.”
