The Asia Group Announces New Tea Leaves Podcast Co-Hosts TAG Managing Partner Rexon Ryu and Bloomberg Anchor Shery Ahn

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 22, 2021) – The Asia Group is pleased to announce Shery Ahn from Bloomberg News and Managing Partner Rexon Ryu as co-hosts of The Asia Group’s Tea Leaves Podcast.

“Our goal is to explore the most dynamic and vibrant region of the world through the stories and insights of individuals whose work and lives are shaping Asia,” said Rexon Ryu, Managing Partner at The Asia Group. “Tea Leaves will illuminate the region’s importance to our daily lives, and how the Indo-Pacific continues to both inspire and challenge us. Shery Ahn is a New York-based anchor for Bloomberg’s market-open programs “Daybreak Asia” and “Daybreak Australia,” which air on Bloomberg Television from 6 to 9pm Eastern. In addition to covering the start of the trading day for investors in Asia, Shery has interviewed some of the most influential names in business and politics during her career in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul. She was raised in Bolivia and speaks Spanish, English, Korean and Japanese.

Rexon Ryu is the Managing Partner of The Asia Group and is the Board Chair of The Asia Group Foundation. Rexon leads the firm’s region-wide practice on defense and national security. He has over two decades of experience working in global diplomacy, policymaking, and executive leadership, serving three presidents at the highest levels and working on the United States’ major foreign policy and national security challenges in Asia and the Middle East.
