The Asia Group Expands Australia Practice, Announces Jacqueline Borsboom as Managing Director for Australia Defense and Aerospace

Washington, DC I July 17, 2023 – The Asia Group (TAG) is excited to announce the expansion of its Australia Practice with the hiring of Jacqueline Borsboom as Managing Director for Australia Defense and Aerospace. Drawing on decades of defense policy and operational expertise in the Australian government, Jacqueline will help TAG’s clients capture new growth opportunities throughout the Indo-Pacific region at the nexus of geopolitical, national, and commercial interests. Jacqueline will be based in Washington, DC, with regular travel to Australia and the region.

“Jacqueline brings a wealth of institutional knowledge that will be invaluable to clients as they navigate this historic geopolitical moment that is driving new defense requirements and strategic arrangements throughout the region,” said TAG President Rexon Ryu.

Prior to joining TAG, Jacqueline was Minister Counsellor for Defence Policy at the Australian Embassy in Washington, DC, where she was the principal advisor to the Australian Ambassador and to the Australian Government on all policy aspects of the U.S.-Australia alliance. In this capacity, Jacqueline was Australia’s chief strategist in the United States for operationalizing the multi-generational trilateral security pact among Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States (AUKUS). With a track record of delivering and implementing multi-billion-dollar defense programs, Jacqueline will help ensure clients’ sales strategies translate to on-the-ground successes.

“Jacqueline’s close involvement in the development of AUKUS and understanding of the vital need for the private sector to step up and play an impactful role in the agreement’s success make her an indispensable asset to clients at a pivotal moment of opportunity in the region,” said Partner and Chair of the Australia Practice Ambassador Arthur Sinodinos AO.

The Asia Group’s Australia Practice provides leading market entry, market access, crisis resolution, and enterprise risk management under the leadership of former Australian Ambassador to the United States Arthur Sinodinos AO.
