The Asia Group Invests in China Talent, Underscores Commitment to In-Country Presence and Capabilities

WASHINGTON, DC | March 10, 2022 – As The Asia Group (TAG) continues to deepen its presence across the Indo-Pacific through its Asia Expansion Initiative, the firm is pleased to announce the addition of Han Lin as China Country Head. Based in Shanghai, Han will work closely with TAG’s Washington, DC-based China Practice to further augment the firm’s service offerings in China.

Han brings nearly 20 years of on-the-ground experience in China. As the former deputy general manager of Wells Fargo, China, Han advised a diverse range of corporate clients on cross-border strategic financing and trade, interfacing on a regular basis with key Chinese regulators and industry stakeholders. Han currently also serves as the Capstone Project Director for the NYU Shanghai MS in Quantitative Finance program and is active in the American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai, having previously served on the organization’s Board of Governors.

“Han has demonstrated throughout his career the critical ability to serve as a trusted interlocutor between U.S.-headquartered corporates and their local subsidiaries, successfully shepherding complex regulatory and commercial transactions across a range of industries,” said TAG President Sharon Yuan. “This is emblematic of TAG’s longstanding approach to supporting our clients, and there’s no one better than Han to lead our in-country efforts.”

In addition, TAG welcomes Senior Advisor Josh Kurtzig. Based in Shanghai, Josh is the Managing Director at Tangram Health, which plans, operates, and invests in hospitals and clinics throughout China. Prior to Tangram, Josh worked at United Family Healthcare for eight years, during which he ran the group’s hospital in Beijing. Josh’s extensive and practical experience in managing hospital operations in China have expanded TAG’s network and reach into health systems across Tier 1 and 2 cities, while also providing the firm’s healthcare-focused clients with nuanced perspectives on emerging regulations related to inter alia procurement, data security, insurance, and licensing.

As TAG continues to enhance its China capabilities, the firm is excited to be in the final stages of launching its Shanghai office in 2022.
