The Asia Group Invests in South Asia Talent, Expanding In-Country Presence and Capabilities

Washington, DC & New Delhi | June 16, 2022 – As The Asia Group (“TAG”) continues to deepen its presence across the Indo-Pacific through its Asia Expansion Initiative, the firm is pleased to announce three new additions to its South Asia team: Dr. Gopal Nadadur, Aman Thakker, and Shyam Krishnakumar.

Dr. Gopal Nadadur joins The Asia Group as an Associate Vice President based in TAG’s New Delhi office, bringing extensive expertise across the health, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. Gopal is a seasoned professional in process engineering and manufacturing systems. His experience and expertise will prove critical to support companies’ interests to redistribute manufacturing capacities from Greater China into India. Gopal previously worked in the CEO’s office of NITI Aayog, the premier policy think tank of the Government of India, and as a Director and Senior Advisor at the Clinton Health Access Initiative where he led negotiations for lower prices for vaccine and medical equipment procurement in over 50 countries.

Aman Thakker joins TAG as a Senior Associate based in Washington, DC, where he will support a range of clients and help drive the firm’s thought leadership on South Asia. Aman comes to TAG with a proven track record of developing and implementing programs focused on India at Indiaspora – a leading non-profit focused on inspiring the global Indian diaspora to be a force for good. Aman also serves as a non-resident Fellow covering India’s economic reform agenda and U.S.-India defense ties at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Mr. Shyam Krishnakumar joins TAG as a technology policy expert based in Bangalore, India. He specializes in India’s technology policy and regulatory landscape with a strong concentration in national and state tech trends. Shyam is also the co-founder and CEO of the Pranava Institute, a new think tank that focuses on India’s emerging technologies and digital ecosystem.

“Gopal, Aman, and Shyam collectively bring a unique combination of experience and expertise to help global and Indian companies navigate the Indian market, bringing cutting-edge insights and analysis across a range of sectors,” said TAG CEO and Co-Founder Nirav Patel. “The Asia Group is all in on India, and we are incredibly excited to continue growing our South Asia practice, underscoring our investment in delivering world class market entry and access strategies to our clients.”

TAG’s South Asia practice includes leading experts based in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Washington, DC, who bring a wealth of on-the-ground experience and deep networks to help clients navigate critical business and policy challenges. Since 2013, the team has worked with clients ranging from cutting-edge startups to blue-chip corporations and established an unparalleled track record of success while advising clients on market entry and expansion strategies, regulatory risk mitigation, stakeholder management, commercial dispute resolution, CSR strategies, and executive thought leadership.
