The Asia Group Opens Canberra Office, Extending Its Long-Standing Australia Presence

Paul Griffiths TAG announcement

Washington, DC | October 23, 2026: The Asia Group (TAG) is excited to announce the opening of a new chapter in our presence in Australia, with Ambassador (Ret.) Paul Griffiths joining the firm as managing director for Australia, based in Canberra.

“Australia sits at the center of the strategic, commercial, and security questions shaping the Indo-Pacific,” said TAG Partner and Chair of the Australia Practice Abraham Denmark. “Paul coming to TAG to lead our in-country presence will dramatically strengthen our ability to help clients anticipate and respond to the developments that matter most.”

A former senior Australian diplomat with more than three decades of government leadership, Griffiths most recently served as first assistant secretary of the Geostrategy and Partnerships Division at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, managing Australia’s key partnerships and driving alignment across groupings including the Quad. He previously served as Australian ambassador to Israel and held senior positions in Washington, Jakarta, Manila, and Seoul.

“The questions our clients face increasingly sit at the intersection of policy and commercial strategy,” said Griffiths. “I am excited to work alongside TAG’s exceptional team to help clients navigate complexity and build lasting success.”

The Canberra office builds on TAG’s expanding global platform. Combined with TAG AI, the firm continues to evolve into a global advisory platform purpose-built for the complexity and opportunity of this era.
