Hong Kong | June 1, 2023 – The Asia Group (“TAG”) is excited to announce that George Chen will join the firm to lead our efforts in Hong Kong and Taiwan. George brings proven leadership in helping multinationals navigate complex commercial challenges at the intersection of technology and national security, supply chain resiliency, and strategic partnership development across the Indo-Pacific region. This expansion into Hong Kong and Taiwan reflects TAG’s commitment to invest in best-in-class talent to support global companies with their business interests across the region.

“George brings a deep understanding of the current opportunities and challenges facing businesses that aim to succeed in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. He is uniquely placed to provide strategic insights and support to companies seeking to operate in these markets and will help enterprises situated in Hong Kong and Taipei to comprehend global trends,” said TAG Managing Partner Kurt Tong.

“George has a unique understanding of how to align business strategies with changes in the operating environment for companies in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the broader region,” said TAG CEO and Co-Founder Nirav Patel. “I’m excited about the depth and dynamism that George will bring to help clients capture new growth opportunities in these critical markets.”

George Chen joins TAG after working as the head of Meta’s region-wide policy operation, based in Hong Kong, where he also guided Meta’s policy work related to China.
