WASHINGTON | January 12 – The Asia Group (TAG) is pleased to announce that Alexander C. Feldman has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor based in Singapore. Feldman’s appointment significantly expands TAG’s capabilities across Southeast Asia, building on the firm’s long track record of success in every major market in the region and TAG’s offices in Hanoi and Bangkok.
“Alex is a trailblazer in understanding the critical importance of the markets of ASEAN as drivers for global businesses. He brings unparalleled depth and expertise in navigating the politics and markets of Southeast Asia to The Asia Group,” said Nirav Patel, CEO and co-founder of TAG. “His proven track record as a business leader uniquely positions him to identify and pursue strategic opportunities across the ASEAN region.”
Feldman has over 35 years of experience in business and government with a strong focus on the Indo-Pacific region and especially Southeast Asia. Before joining TAG, Feldman served as the President of The Boeing Company in Southeast Asia, where he provided strategic advice on public policy matters, government engagement, and regulatory compliance in 12 countries.
From 2009 to 2021, Feldman served as President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council. Under his leadership, the Council expanded to represent over 170 American multinational companies. Feldman was named the Council’s President Emeritus for his exceptional leadership in 2021.
Previously, Feldman held senior global leadership posts in the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Department of State under President George W. Bush. Feldman led the Bureau of International Information Programs with the rank of Assistant Secretary of State, then served as Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary for International Trade. He began his diplomatic career in President George H.W. Bush’s Commerce Department in 1990.
Feldman’s private sector experience also includes Asia-wide responsibilities covering general management, sales, business development, and strategic planning for major media companies including CNBC Asia, MTV Asia, and STAR TV. He has been a frequent commentator on major international media platforms including CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, and BBC.
“Alex is a perfect fit for the versatile advisory services TAG offers,” said Rexon Ryu, President of The Asia Group. “In a constantly evolving market, his proven adaptability – deftly transitioning between not just industries but the public and private sectors – will be an invaluable asset.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Alex to the TAG team in Singapore and cannot wait to begin offering our clients his astute insight and analysis,” Patel said.
